In the summer of 2013 two friends and I set out on a six-month backpacking adventure through South America. We bussed and hitchhiked our way from Peru to Argentina to Punta Arenas, Chile. What started as three turned into one, back into three, then into six. As all trips go, the who, what and where are always dynamic. For me, Chile was definitely the highlight. Between the terra firma, the humble people of Patagonia and the tradition of fresh baked bread and mate, Chile offered a glimpse into what the world could, and should, be.
